piggish palys

I don't specifically feed mine but whenever a stray mysis or other meaty item fals on them they close up like fly traps! Mine are the green dragon eye palys and eat like this once a week usually.Was just curious if anyone else has starving palys?

I don't think they are starving.
They just have the mechanism to grab anything that first touches the skirts or falls on their disc. Some times they are already fed, and after ingesting, they still try to grab more food when the open again. That's the mechanism and it's a natural reaction.
Yes, most Palythoas and Protopalythoas close up fast when food is offered.
If they won't eat it they reject after grabbing it.

I know they arent starving I was just being a bit grandiose with that. Ive only been in this for about a year and im still in a state of awe at the way these seemingly plant like [in looks] critters feed in different ways.
