I posted this thread over equipment forum but I have no reply. I hope I will here some from you're in here.
Have you're ever compare Pinpoint PH monitor and salifer test kit ? Last night I did a PH test with Salifer test kit, The PH is 8.3 (green color) and my Pinpoint is read at 8.1 . Which one is right ?

Thanks

If you read Randy's article on the buffers, you'll find those Pinpoint ones are good calibration solutions so I too would go with the probe readings.

If you use both 7 and 10, just opened them new, and the meter correctly read those 7 and 10 packets after calibration, then I'd be more inclined to believe the meter.

Yes, as much as I like most of Saliferts test kits, the PH one leaves a lot of speculation. Very hard to read. I ended up buying a Pinpoint PH monitor and I love it. :)

I'm not sure about it in particular, but in general, I wouldn't extend probes all the way into the water so that the wires are in the water. In some cases that is OK, at least short term, but it is not always OK.

If you take a piece of styrofoam and make a hole smaller than the probe by just a little bit, then shove the probe through half way it will float real nice. After shoving it through check for little styrofoam balls in the end though.

Check to make sure you didn't break the glass tip too. :D
