Pinched Mantle ?

Is this pinched mantle on my Deresa? If so, will a freshwater dip for 15 to 30 mins take care of it?

It looks fine too me also.

FWD is the last resort as it is stressful but works well.

Is there more flow on that end of the clam ? My squamosa looked like that when we moved the powerhead. we just moved it back and all is fine.

flow is the same as it was when both sides were fully extended.

look for other irritants (pyr. snails, fish piucking, etc.) I really dont think its pm.

I do have pyramidal snails unfortunately :-(. I have been diligent about picking them off each night as i see them and check him over when I had him out of the tank for any hiding underneath and didn't see any...knock on wood I haven't seen any for the past week and a half.

What about bristle worms, could they be irritating him?

if you have pyr snails, that is a problem. do all you can to make sure they are gone. They could surely cause a problem like this and it could quickly lead to demise. bristleworms usually aren't an issue. be sure of your ids though- fireworms will damage inverts, but bristles are harmless scavengers.
