Pink lemonade paly

Where do you place your pink lemonade paly for the best coloration??? I've had mine since Nov. and am about to give it away - coloring nothing like the pics I've seen. Mine's more a drab pink/maroon. Lighting is 6 T5's (individual reflectors) on a 75gal tank.

Middle down should be plenty of light. However, the color also depends on the bulbs you have and the water perameters.

It is not a "palyathoa" It is in the zonathus gigantus family and it will change colors as the wind blows as well as temp, lighting, flow....etc.. good luck!

Please elaborate why you think paly's don't change under those statements above....

I thought I was pretty clear..good luck

he is telling you there is no where in your tank you could put it to make it look like someone else pictures. and from what Geo is saying, im guessing zonathus gigantus as a species change colors on a regular basis.

"zoanthus gigantus" is not a family. It is a binomial species name which should have the genus capitalized and the whole thing italicized...Zoanthus gigantus. If it's going to be hammered into everyone who mentions the word "paly" in a post, at least let's do it correctly.

So I tried to look up 'Zoantus gigantus'. Didn't find much though. In one of the other responses, you commented about them changing colors. Were you commenting on just zoas that are part of that species - or all zoas in general?

zoanthus gigantus are much more prone than most to developing interesting speckles/splotches/designs than most polyps in different conditions.

And...as such, are much more commonly given multiple names, and people thinking they have something nobody has ever seen or named before, than the multiple names, and people thinking they have soemthing that has never been seen or named before for all the other multiple-named polyps.
