Pink Skunk Clown won't host Bubble Tip

:confused:So, I am new to having anemones. A couple months ago I got a sebae for my pink skunk clown and he went right to it, in less than an hour, and loved it. The sebae only made it about a month. He started off doing great, then just couldn't get happy and rapidly declined. (moved around a lot and started turning upside down and would "swallow" his food then "spit" it all out) I, now, am trying a bubble tip, which I have had for about 5 days, and the clown has nothing to do with it. Is this normal? Will he pick a completely different species of anemone after having the sebae? Thank you

Just give her time, she will find it eventually. Skunks will live in just about anything. could just be the nem isn't in a spot the clown likes yet, but don't move the nem, let it settle on its own.

Heya Abn :) The natural host to a skunk (orange or pink) is not the E. Quadricolour (bubble tip) :( They took so fast to your first anemone because it was a natural host to them. Crispa, Mertensii, H. Mag, etc... These will host your clowns much more naturally :) Though, that's not to say they wouldn't eventually jump into the E. Quadricolour, I would imagine it would take some time (if ever).

Thanks everyone, we shall see what happens. On a good note, the anemone seems very happy and has already eaten twice and stayed right where I put him.

So it took exactly one week and my pink skunk started to try out the bubble tip Yay! However, this morning when I turned the lights on the anemone is at the very bottom of the Indo rock that he had happily been attached to and at the top of since he was placed in the tank. He is all wedged down under the rocks and barely visible. I don't want to mess with him and stress him out, I don't think I could move him even if I tried, anyway. So, now what? What does this mean? Surely he is not getting the light source he needs at the bottom of the tank and under all the rocks? Thanks for any input.:headwallblue:
