Pink Streak Wrasse on it's side

I just got a pink streaked wrasse from diver's den on tuesday. Now it has been laying on it's side and almost looks like it's on it's way out. now it's lying on it's side most of the time and breathing a little hard. the helfrichi seems fine and isn't breathing hard.

i put the fish in a bucket of fresh salt water to start the tank transfer method. i matched the SG at 1.025 and floated the bag for 20 minutes. i opened the bag and then took out the fish after about 5 minutes after opening the bag. when it was in the bucket initially it kept trying to swim into the ground and would try to push even harder into the ground and then stop. i'm not sure how to really describe it.

i tried feeding spectrum fish pellets and and brine shrimp i don't really see it eating. There is a helfrichi in there too with him, and i think the helfrichi is eating most of the food.

is there anything i can do at this point?

Did you float the bag then do a drip method to match your tanks salinity?
I got a pink streak wrasse from them and it's doing good but maybe you need to get another one it does not sound good. They have a guarantee.

yea i know they have a guarantee, but these are hard to come by at times and sad to watch a fish die.

i didn't do the drip method because i just checked the SG of the bag and matched it to the water that i had prepped. i floated the bag for 20 minutes too. that's pretty much it. no medicine in the water right now.

So you matched your tank or quarantine water to the bag? In my opinion the tanaka'sPygmy wrasse is nicer looking I have both fish.

Yea I matched the sg of the bag to the qt. I let the bag float for twenty minutes too. The helfrichi in the qt is doing just fine.

Unfortunately the fish is dead in pretty sure. I picked it up and it was stiff and didn't move when I touched it. It wasn't breathing anymore either. I don't know what happened...

wrasses can be very sensitive to change. the drip method is best for these fish. i lost a $300 wrasse from live aquaria a couple of weeks ago after 1 day. i used the drip method so there is no guarantee this will work.

Sorry to hear about your loss too. Do you qt your wrasse? I'm tempted to just throw it into the dt if I get another one.

i have been doing this for 16 years and i have never qt a fish. i know i should but i never had the room for one. my wrasse just appeared too stressed from the flight from ca to pa. live aquaria did give me a full refund.
