Pinstripe wrasse or melanurus wrasse

Is it reef safe with cleaner shrimp?

Could I add a cleaner shrimp to my tank with this wrasse? What do you guys think?

I had this fish for 2 years before he thought he could fly. I had both cleaner and peppermint shrimp in with him and didn't have any problem. You best bet is to get larger shrimp if you want to try it.

I think I'll try it with cleaner shrimp and see what happens.

With those wrasses, it is hit or miss. Having the cleaner shrimp established before the wrasse is added would likely help out. My melanarus didn't go after my fire shrimp when they were together.

Mine jumped once and I found it lying on the floor. I threw it back in the tank when I found it and it has been fine since that time.

Just note, if you are getting it online, remember that smaller/juvi ones will appear much different then the pic you linked to.
