Pipe Thread on pump ?

I have a super dart pump and trying to thread the output, but it keeps leaking with a slow drip. I have tried a little of white tape thread and a lot. It out put is fine, just the input keeps dripping. Any tips, or could it be the pump?

Make sure your using the proper size threaded fitting.
Make sure your not cross threaded.
As long as the above two aren't the issue then put multiple layers of teflon tape on the fitting.
Like Minnfish said, Make sure your putting it on the right direction. It should not unwrap itself as your tightening the fitting.

Also make sure you know where it's really leaking from. Sometimes those leaks appear to be coming from one place and they are actually coming from somewhere else.

If it's still leaking after that, then you likely have a cracked fitting or pump output.

You may have cracked the volute (the part where the pipe threads in) if you have a metal hose clamp around it will stop the leak if not try teflon paste it fills better without expanding the joint.

I think it is a sched 40 or 80 thing... On my snapper i had a hell of a time getting it to seal. I ended up just glueing a fitting into it and then going from there. Major mess but its done.

I have tried 4-5 layers and still didn't work. I get a slow drip every minute or so. I have four pumps and none of them ever leaked. I may try the Teflon paste and then may have to resort to prime and glue.
