Pipefish food

I just received 2 pipefish from Live Aquaria for my SeaHorse tank. These things are really skinny. I dont think theyre gonna eat the frozen mysis that they said.Would frozen baby brine work or what is everyone else feeding?

Try cyclopeeze too. For live food I'd recommend copepods or amphipods if you have some in your fuge or the pipes may find them on your LR themselves.

I have both captive bred and captive raised pipefish fry . the only frozen they have ALL taken to so far is the cyclopeeze (some eat shaved frozen mysis ). what type of pipe are they ? how big? some can take bigger foods then others . mine are gulf pipes and I was shocked by the size foods they could eat .

Multibanded Pipefish . They are very small, about 3 inches. Im surprised at how skinny they are. Ive been trying the frozen cyclopeeze and frozen baby brine.

Re: feeding pipes

Hey, I have multi-banned pipes as well. Although they seem to pick some at my live rock and macro algae, they have so far refuesed to feed on cyclopeeze. Are you using the frozen or dried form and do you have any particular strategies about feeding it to them?

They ate it the second day. I have the frozen bar type. I just scrape a little in the sump and the return pump fires it in the tank.

Mine ate frozen cyclopeeze and smaller mysis, but it still died after a month or so, with no sign of what the problem was.

My tank is bare bottom so I can syphon out the uneaten food easily. I run a css65 skimmer in the sump. Im trying to keep the water as clean as possible. Plus regular water changes.
