Pipefish in reef

anyone keep pipefish in a main display tank - reef or fowlr.

ive seen it but they are usualy best left to species tanks as most of them need special flow

There are a few species that do well in reefs, like the blue stripe and dragonface. However, you need to be sure there aren't any fish that would prey on them, realize some LPS and anemones are a risk, and most importantly, have plenty of live food (pods genrally) populating the tank. If your tank won't support a few mandarins, it probably won't support pipes.
