Pistol Shrimp Catching

My friend convinced me into getting a pistol shrimp about 4 months ago. He was doing fine for a couple of months, not distrubing anything and now he started to kick sand all over the place in abnormal measures. Everyday he makes a new burrow and I am really woried for my crocea clam beacuse i find sand on him sometimes. Well i was just wondering if any1 had any tips on how to catch him or if any1 had an similar experience. Thanks,

-Mike

i have a pistol shrimp, Alpheus Heterochaelis, it tends to kick up a lot of sand but that has never bothered my crocea. My golden headed sleeper goby tended to drop more sand it than the pistol shrimp but the clam is still fine. It will "spit" sand out if too much gets on its mantle/in its mouth.

I just wana get rid of my shrimp the becuase he is so much a pain. Since i put him in I cant find my six-line wrasse , my corals are covered in sand and "soot" from the sand flys up and it gets on my rock. I just want me tank to be normal again. I made a trap involving a 16oz zephr hills bottle but he dosen't go in all the way.

if he is checking out the trap,he will go in at some point.make sure to bait it with something smelly and leave it for a while.maybe you can get him used to feeding from the bottle then catch him in it.
