Pistol shrimp keeps "popping"

Hello everyone. I have a tiger pistol shrimp and ever since I got back from vacation a few days ago I can hear him cracking or popping his claw. It happens about 4 times a day. Any idea why?

I hear mine pop when nothing is around his entry ways. I think it is just what they do.

They usually do it to scare something away, whether it be a fish or snail or crab, he's just starting to get comfortable in his new tank.

Thanks a lot for the feedback... I just heard him again and it is weird crazy loud. It gets my attention and I can actually believe the rumors of broken aquarium glass from it. Just strang! Thanks for responding!

Mine pops all the time. I wouldn't worry. Just protecting his/her cave.

Mine did it a lot more previous to being paired with a shrimp goby. Rarely hear it anymore. Not sure why, just an observation.
