Pittsburgh Area - Breaking down reef tank

I've had a reef tank for about 4 years now. It's a 12 gallon nano cube, and it's been great fun. But it's time, it has just become unbalanced, and I can't keep up with it, a number of set backs have caused me to want to restart the tank, but I really would feel guilty about just killing off all my livestock.

So, disclaimers, due to a poor acquisition, my tank has aptasia, as well as a ton of cyanobacteria (one of the reasons I want to restart). If any enthusiasts in the Pittsburgh area are interested, I'd like to have some folks with quarantine tanks be able to come by and take the following livestock off my hands

LPS
1.) green tip frogspawn - approx 25 polyp heads
2.) purple tip frogspawn - approx 13 polyp heads
3.) green tip hammer coral - 4 polyp heads

Rocks
1.) one rock covered in yellow polyps and star polyps
2.) one rock with 3-4 fuzzy green mushrooms
3.) one rock with 2-3 red mushrooms
4.) one rock with 2 tiny green mushrooms
5.) one rock with a small finger leather and some orange zoanthids
6.) assorted other small frags that may have a mushroom or zoanthid on them.

Once again, I live in the Pittsburgh area (Highland Park) and if you're interested, I'd like to coordinate with you to take my livestock off my hands, I've worked so hard growing it, that it's just not right to kill it. That being said, you do have the aforementioned problems to deal with.

I sent a note to the powers that be to have this moved to our local forum. You'll have more luck there.

Thanks!

Thanks!

Thanks a ton, as you can see, I'm new to reef central, but not the hobby. I've had friends that started me on it, and I just never got into the forums. When I start the tank back up, I'll definitely be an active member.

It wants me to have 10 posts before I can reply to a PM evidently. I'll be talking to you soon

Debi,

Thanks for the n00b assist. I hadn't realized there was just a local forum for Pittsburgh, but of course, in retrospect, that makes perfect sense.

Green Zoanthids too

Green Zoanthids too

Edit: It appears I've got one or two green zoanthids left. The star polyps had been growing over and fighting with them, I thought they were all gone, but if you want, you can save some and nurse them back to a decent colony.

dean, are you trying to get rid of everything in one swoop, or are you interested in getting rid of some individual pieces?

i might be interested in the frogspawns/hammer.

Our annual Mega Raffle is the first week of December (if memory serves me). www.pmasi.org

If you are staying in the hobby (or leaving) it would be great to have you at the meeting. Bring what is left that you wish to donate and we can put it in the raffle.

Hey All,

I don't necessarily need to get rid of it all at once, but the sooner the better, I'd hate to have the whole tank crash out on me. And like I said, known issues with Aptasia and cyanobacteria at the moment. Ideally, I can clear this out, and start fresh, learning from previous mistakes.
