Pittson LFS

I recently had a relative tell that an LFS in Pittson, Pet Zone, is one of the top saltwater stores in the area. I am unaware of it, but that doesnt mean much...

any feedback? Is it worth my drive south?

It is now since I helped them(unofficially) get the salt water section working properly.I have been helping them(donating time) with there system as they were in rough shape prior and the store concentrated more on reptiles and other animals. They have revamped the section and added LED lighting, new skimmers and a working RODI,etc.. so the corals are much happier as a result. It will be getting better as time goes on.

I wouldn't waste my time going there. I have been a few times and refuse to go any more. I think most people in the area who are into saltwater/coral don't go there unless it's an emergency and fin-sanity isn't open.

+1!!!
What happened to Fin-sanity?

Never mind on the Finsanity part. I reread it. Got nervous that they may have closed. If you are by Pittston, check out Finsanity

Finsanity may be great but if you have not been at the pet zone in the last few months, commenting on what the store is like now(presently) is not a very accurate description. It does not matter to me if you or anyone ever shops there given I have no interest in helping them promote there business. I only offered a helping hand to the store given my love of the animals(and my life long goal to help conserve the natural coral reefs) and could not stand seeing them kept in less then optimal or poor conditions. It is by far not the best store I have ever been in or even the best in a 50 mile radius of me but the corals and fish and there apparent health has improved greatly.GL with who ever you choose to shop with and happy reefing :)

Sucks that there is nothing close for the people up in the northern part of PA.

I will agree with Dan on the fact that Petzone has started to get their act together with the overall quality of the tanks. Before they added the wall of coral tanks the conditions were real poor. But their coral selection has been lacking the last few times I stopped in and their prices seem quite high on a lot of items. $35 for a single duncan head! I haven't bought anything from there in over a year easily.

Fin-sanity in luzerne is a good choice if you are going to be in the area. Then there is Knockout aquatics in tannersville and in the next month or so there will be another store opening on 611 around the tannersville area.

Hey, this is my first post here. I'm from wilkes Barre. +1 for finsanity, although I haven't been to petzone in quite some time. Finsanity will be moving across the river to wilkes Barre within the next few months. The new location will be a lot larger and hopefully have an expanded coral selection.

I was in there recently. I do get my mice for my snake from them. Prices are truly outrageous. I wasn't impressed at all with their coral. Finsanity is good, knockout aquatics is now my favorite. His corals are great and prices are good. Worth the trip.
