I was wondering if there is a place around Nashville that has a community tank. (big enough for TANGS)? I am watching my regal tangs grow everyday (the little pigs). I am thinking to donate them in about 6 months to a year to a nice place. Something like a childrens hospital or something like that.

Anyone know of one, please let me know.

robert, if all else fails the west tenn. club has two 265's at st jude childrens research hospital and take anything that will fit. there also breaking ground on a 1000+ gallon in the new cancer center i believe. it may be an option<~~~steve

They have to go to a good cause...the Hospitals are great. All I plan on doing is when they get too big is to donate them and buy two or more babies again. I love tangs, just don't have the space in the house for a bigger tank.

St. Jude's Children's sounds like a good place too....thanks Steve.

here is some info if anyone is interested in volunteering or just seeing whats being done down there. if you saw the kids and how happy it makes them despite their illness (most have terminal cancers) youd be turning flips to do whatever you could. its an awesome program...... <~~~~steve

I believe spazz is working on St. Jude's next big tank. It's going in the new integrated clinical/research building that is being built. the plan as it stands now is a monster tank that will have closed circuit TV for the kids in the hospital.

The childrens area at Murfreesboro Med. Center use to have salt tanks, I haven't been there is a few years but they may have room.

we have a 1400 thats been up for a long time...its got some tangs and angel fish...we also have 2 170 gallon reef tanks

I don't know if they have any reef tanks, but we have donated a few things to Metro Parks & Recreation in the past. They take all of the stuff they get and set up tanks around Nashville for inner-city kids, educational programs, etc. DMBillies could probably dig up the guys name if you wanted it - he was easy to deal with and they're always happy to take anything they can use. I would definately check to make sure they would be able to care for them first before going that route. We only ever donated our old freshwater stuff...
