Placement of 3 Tunze pumps..

We'll flow always always gets me stumped!

I've recently picked up a Tunze 6105 and 9075 controller off Volkster, and added it to my 6055 with a 7091 controller a 6045. So i think i've got overkill flow but need to position it right..

Here are some photos of my current layout, I can move most corals around to suit the flow rather than flow to suit the corals in there current position. The There is a clear path right down the back of the tank so no rock is touching or leaning on glass.

I have a return spray bar which runs the width of the tank and its an even flow from the start to the end of the bar, i'd say its moving about 5lph

Please ignore the brown algae, i'm awaiting new bulbs which should be here tomorrow

Tank Volume: approx. 450 Litres
Measurements: 151 x 51 x 66 cm

Hope someone can help!

The 6105 would be most effective in a back corner aimed nearly diagonally across the tank, I would do the same with the 6055 and then use the 6045 to target a specific flow need.

Thanks, i've changed my spray bar down the back of my tank and have a rocking motion going on at the moment.

However my brand new 6055 impeller is ticking when its on interval 1 on the 7095 controller? I brought it brand new but i don't think its the latest model as it didn't come with the dampening holder.

Its a white impeller, and my other 6045 has a blue.

Did you buy this new from a dealer? The propeller color on a 6055 is only a color difference, they are technically identical, same plastic, etc. The main thing this would indicate is it has disk 6025.740 instead of 6055.740.

Yeah brand new from our local dealer, How can i tell what disk i have for sure? I've attached photos of the box it came in.

The box would not reveal anything, if you have a white propeller on a new pump, you have the old disk, I can send you the new style disk if you are in the US, just PM me your mailing address, if you are outside the USA, you would need to contact your local distributor. Changing the disk will solve this noise.

Also i've decided to buy another 6105. Would you one on the left and another on the right? As thats how i've got it at the moment but the 6055 just can't keep up.

So 6105 on the left, 6105 on the right. To create the best wavy motion im best to use interval 1 on the 7095 controller right?

I would use Interval 2 and a roughly 6hr interval, this would roughly simulate tidal changes.

On the 6055, be sure it is at 24V for maximum flow, for your size tank, it is nearing the limit of where it is effective, the flow reaches about 120cm and has a diameter of about 45cm. It would be good for lower flow animals in your size tank.

Cheers! With or without the second 6105?

I think the 2 6105 would be all you need, I was just suggesting to give the 6055 and 6105 combo a full chance before buying another pump.

Thanks!

I've up'd the voltage on the 6055 to 24v. I see the different now!

Your suggestion for interval 2, with a 6 hour interval, Stupid question but how to i set the interval to 6?

What % would be optimal to use for the power.

Sorry i re-read your post and got it ahaha.

I've got it on interval 2, 6 hour interval.

6105 on the left about half way down, 6055 about 1/3 down from the top on the right hand side. I've attached photos..

or i'll swap to what you said earlier.

Is there somewhere i can find at what % is the GPH/LPH? So i can workout if i have sufficient flow or not

The best judge of flow is the health of your tank, if you don't have pockets of detritus, patches of algae and the corals expand and look healthy the flow is correct.

Push the interval button until .2-12 hours is indicated, then turn the know to about the half way point.
