placement of candy cane frag

I just bought my first LPS, a candy cane frag. How should I mount it and where? I have T5 lighting. Thanks.

well how much lighting? it needs to be mounted where coral can expand and not rub on anything rough, also it should be mounted towards the bottom of the tank.

I have 2x24 watt 10000k and 2x460nm actinics

it would be good for it to be lower in the tank. on the sand if possible.

no it is fine on the sand.

i saw a stringy, brown substance coming out of a hole in the "stalk" part of the frag. should i be worried.

Mine does that too. It is just releasing waste. I also agree that it will be fine in the sand.
