hi
yesterday my old tank goes to his new owner. so i can start my new tank projekt in a few days...

the hole system will have about 150 gallons.

the tank wil have the size 180cmx50x50cm. i hope the long tank will help me to get a laminar flowing.

in a about 2-3 days i will geht my aluminium frame from marine systems germany.

here some data about the tank

tanksize: 180cmx50x50 70,87x19,69x19,69 inches (for the american guys;))

technictank size: 100cmx35cmx40cm
skimmer: maybe the new ati cone 200?!?
ozone: sander 50
pump for lifting back to the tank: aqua bee up 2000/1

for the tank i plan a diy backgroundplate with a kind of ama reefbond

The framing for the stand is interesting, is it modular? Is this common trend in aquarium stands in Germany?

Mike

hi mike

in germany many guys choose steel for the frame... but its a little expensive... about 500 dollar.
my frame is aluminium. marine systems cut this profil exactly. its modular. you can choose the size what you need. the plastic connection have a steelcore...
and it is really cheap. about 200 dollar inclusiv shipping.. so i have 300$ for buying corals:inlove:

Thats pretty awesome. Does anyone know if they have something like this for america? And You just... put it in the connector's and thats it? Seems pretty awesome to me :D

hi

just put it in the connectors:beer:
but its not easy. you need a rubber hammer it makes it a little bit easier.
its important that the frame is on a wood to distrubte the weight.

Wow, that seems so much easier than having to build a stand completely out of wood. Looking forward to your tank! Any fish ideas yet?

hi

i´m planing only spezial fishes. mybe a sworm anthias or lepacanthus...
in germany most guy make the frame with steel. wood is not so popular.
the germans have fear about the weight:spin1::spin1:

hi
after 3 hours working on the frame it look like this!
i finished the cuts with silicon to protect the wood from water.
if i have the technic tank i will finish it and bring on the doors...
it looks like ikea.

Nice stand and beautiful job of making it fit into the overall room design. Too bad you have to wait so long for the aquarium.
