These are all frags and mini colonies that I have taken from my display or bought. I have been able to frag a few of these to create 2 frags in some cases.

I have most all of these frags propped on another peice of live rock rubble. In most cases the corals have grown onto the rubble making it easy to create a frag. This takes longer but works well for corals I am not fond of handling like zoanthids and palythoa.

Flatworm Muncher! This six line has been sorely missed. He jumped out of the tank.

Right behind him is larger colony of zoanthids that most likely were wild harvested. This rock just had too much life on it with fan worms, feather dusters and sponges. I am pretty sure that the rock also hid this guy as a hitch-hiker:

This Tuxedo Urchin is about the coolest hitch-hiker I think I have had. He must have been in the tank for about 6 months before I found him as I added nothing else to this tank in that time.

Should I keep the Urchin? They like to carry things arround including frags, hermit crabs, rubble etc. They also eat coraline algae as part of their diet. This tank is bare bottom and covered with coraline.

Is the DIY Kalk wasser container just a regular RO/ Filter housing? I haven't seen them that tall on the top part, with what looks like 2 holes on both sides, and the tube going down the center (inside) - any input would be appreciate.

Ok...another long overdue update.

This system is still running. Most of the corals that were originally in here have been moved out either to my reef tank displays or I have traded them off. The system has recently served me well for a quarantine system and to house new arrivals.

I use this system to initially quarantine fish. I can also lower the salinity in one of the tanks and isolate the tank from the sump and the other two tanks by valving it off. I can then slowly raise the salinity to 1.026. Most fish I get are in a lower salinity often as low as 1.018 so taking a few days or even a week to raise the level to 1.026 seems easier on the fish.

I have done a few water changes on the tanks using old water from water changes on my display. I am planning on moving one of the tanks and hooking it up to my main display by plumbing into the sump. I am about ready to start making frags from my display tank.

The frags that are left in the system are not doing great. I have had some problems with a few pests that were introduced. Flatworms have always been a problem. I am also having another burst of aiptasia growing in the system. The peppermint shrimp have been moved out and were seemingly keeping the aiptasia from populating. The six line wrasse was lost some time ago from jumping out of the tank.

So I have some work to do on this system to get the tanks moved and cleaned up from the pests. I have collected many frag plugs and have other supplies ready like super glue gel and epoxy putty. I will post some pics of whats left in the frag tanks and then some new pics after I move the tanks.
