Planning a sump- Need advice

Anyone have any spare ro water in buffalo they can spare tonight along with a heater to get me thru the night? My heater exploded while restocking my tank. Nothing near it or anything simply lowering it deeper into the water( it was about 2 inches from the to not cross line) started to sizzle and exploded.

I would recommend buying a Titanium submersable heater....You can find them on ebay for a decent price...

Thanks for the suggestion but due to the need I woke up and went to petsmart and bought a Aqueon pro 200.

Also finally got the sump set up and notice the drain pipe in the tank was making a god awful sucking noise like a shower drain when your done showering. Also the water level goes up and down to the height of the drain line then up about 1/8th in above it causing it to gurgle and suck alot of water down quick. I've been adjusting the pump flow hoping that was the issue. Think im getting close to that issue.

I'm not the expert that some of these replies demonstrate, but I use a ball valve on the Mag Drive 9.5. Even with the 5, a ball valve might be a good idea so you can regulate the flow if the pump proves to me too strong for whatever overflow you choose.

I have a mag 9 with a ball valve. I think that is what is causing to much water to flow up to the tank above the drain by 1/8 then start the large gurgling noise. I adjusted alittle and drill 3 rows or holes in a 2 in pipe I have sticking out of the end of my 90* elbow that's aimed slightly upward. I noticed a whirlpool at the end of the 90 and the holes helped to break up the suction and noise on the surface quiet a bit.
