I am in the process of drawing up and planning my dream tank. A 48 x 48 x 20 cube. It will be setup for 3 sided viewing with a full width overflow and 3 stand pipe ala Animal Bean.
I am thinking of doing a horseshoe of live rock with the ends facing forward to create a little atoll look to it.
Also I will take the Reef breeders Nova A4 light I have on my current tank and buy 3 more and use four of them on this build. Rear corner set up bright, opposite corner set up dim and the other two in between to give me a wide spread of light intensity and make a mixed reef that can support about anything.
What I need some input on is the pump returns into the tank. I am thinking of having the bottom drilled for several returns. I will have a sandbed to hide the piping but I would like to see some examples of what has been done for the outlet portion. How it was hidden or incorporated into the rock work. If you have seen any tanks with a return piping method you think noteworthy please share a link or pictures or even a description is better than nothing.
I'll get a proper blog going once I get the tank designed and find a builder. Definitely glass with no frame and starphire on front, left and right.
Can't wait!
