I need to find out what this is and how to control it. I have had a chevron tang for three months now and he won't touch the stuff. What eats this stuff or how do you get rid of it?

Looks like Caulerpa peltata. Not many fish or snails eat caulerpa but I have had good luck with a Foxface Rabbitfish.

It's some sort of Caulerpa. Maybe C. racemosa var. something. Just pull it out by hand.
