Planted Reef Tank

So i picked up 30# of really nice FL rock to add to my tank. Fast forward a few months my tank looks like a planted tank. I kinda like it but I need something to eat some of it. I know a tang is not a viable option as the tank is a 40B but what eats plants and macro. Stock like 1 clown 1 sixline wrass 1 pseudo 1 green cromis. assorted snails 2 blue legs and a fighting conk and some corals.

That seems like a heavy load already, lowering the bioload and feeding less might reduce macro growth. That said, a lawnmower blenny is right on the verge of being small enough and I love mine in the 80-gallon predatory FOWLR for cleaning up hair algae and macro off everything. Also, doublecheck and clean your skimmer, or update to a bigger unit if yours isn't keeping up.

skimmers rated for 100g reef octopus also running a fuge with cheeto and a hob with chempure and purigen water parameters are perfect. Tank is pristine its not an bloom of the bad stuff. Its more like the rocks came with plants attached and now they are growing. I was just looking for something to graze on it but I can always just trim them I guess.

I would suggest an emerald crab
1. Good cuc anyway
2. Mine loves bubble algae/nori/cheato (i believe this is pretty common for them but i only have one)
3. When he gets tired of actually eating the cheato he just starts snipping at it to find more copepods in the mat (occasionally this actually spreads the algae but it seems like he goes after the "leftovers" once hes done "mowing the lawn")
