Plants & Coral together

Just call me stupid, but there doesn't seem to be any information about putting plants together with coral in a salt water aquarium.
Can you add plants to a coral reef aquarium?

what do you mean plants? Like Mangroves, etc?
I have a mixed reef and tons of Halmeda plants (macro algae)

Sure you can add things like macroalgae or mangrove plants in a reef setup..
Many macros tend to grow rather fast and need frequent pruning...others are rather invasive and will spread all over...plenty of "display" macros though that look good and wont overtake the tank
