Plate Coral long tenicale

Are you talking about a heliofungia? I have seen pictures of clowns being in one. With how big my heliofungia is, I think it might eat my clowns. I'd be interested to see what other people say. I am willing to bet, some one might say, "If your clown uses a coral for a host..it will kill the coral."

I had a maroon that actually hosted in a short tentacle plate before I even had a long tentacle. If you're looking for an anemone alternative for your clown to go with though, I'd stay away from plates. My maroon was rough enough with my smaller orange plate to kill it so I removed the long tentatcle before any damage with it could happen. Hope that helps.

Thanks I was just curious, my maroon misses my bta and I was in the local lfs and had seen a long tenicale plate coral which looked just like an anemone and I thought that would be cool because it wouldn't travel around ha. Well doesn't sound like a good idea. I had a bta was nursing it for over a year it bleached out right when I brought it home and never recovered. I finally just pulled it out because it was in terrible shape. The maroon clown keeps looking for it and rubbing on the rock that it was attached too. There is some Xenia close by and it keeps rubbing on it now.
