Plate coral

I am interested in getting a piece of short tentical plate coral. Here is a picture of the exact one:

It is a nano tank and I was wondering if this specimen would sting fish and or my serpent banded starfish. The starfish kinda travels across all of the sand bed leaving no area he wont go. Could this present a problem adding this coral? I know that it is semi-agressive and should not be near other corals because it could possibly kill them, but I am not sure about other animals.

I guess my other question then is, the piece I am looking at buying doesn't have a real flat bottom, but part of it is kind of curved, can the animal change this and would it flatten out on the sand bed?
