I really like the look of the multi colors intertwined like that! I have found the challenge with the plating montis is they grow so fast that I know I didn't plan on them growing that large and tended to shade vast tracts of our tank so I have fragged them back significantly. I would definitely arrange them differently if I had known then what I know now!
Here is a shot of a green monti that grew to this size in about a year from a potato chip sized frag (sorry for the bad pic from top). Starting to shade one of my wife's prize scolys!
Another green cap I fragged because it was growing too close to the glass to clean (again in about a year from a small frag)
A purple cap that we've had to frag the heck out of - not the best pic - this was after fragging it from overgrowing its hyndophora neighbor and also had to break several large frags off the front as it was shading several more corals.
Another view of it from the top (again, crappy pic with light reflection but hopefully you get the idea):
A partial FTS to put in perspective and show the orange cap in this pic is my wife's pride and joy so no way would I frag it - plus, for whatever reason, this one has grown up and hasn't attached to any rock so has been mobile and we've moved it a couple of times as it has grown. It got to the size in this pic in about a year from a small potato chip size frag.
Another partial FTS to show the left 1/2 of the tank for perspective. This was taken after the green cap was fragged to allow more light to the scoly and other corals.
