platinum clown breeding

I picked up a pair of platinum clowns about two weeks ago these guys were in a tank together at the lfs for about 8 months before i brought them home. I plan on breeding them and selling the babies. How can I tell if they will eventually start laying eggs or if they ever will?

Pics would be good, and it will take a while for them to just get comfortable in your tank and if they have been at your LFS for a while then they are i'm sure good with each other

The first step is when you figure out which one is the male and which one is the female. the female is always bigger. there is also a book called clowenfishes by Joyce D. Wilkenson. that is my bible. Let me know if you ever get babies cause i would be intersed in two. also pm if you have any more questions that i can help with.

Ok thank you I think they have established who is who because I saw them fighting a week ago and one of them one and the other has become quite submissive (which i would assume is the male) and I'm not really sure how to post pics and I don't have a camera really just an iphone

You won't be able to tell if they are going to spawn until about a month before it happens. They will start to clean off a spot -- seems that the male does most of the work.

It took my SI perc pair 16 months to start spawning -- happened last night.

In another tank I have a pair of pink skunks, it took them over 2 years to start.
