Platinum Clownfish Help

Hey,

I have had my Pair of Platinum Clownfish for approx 2 years now.
They were bought as juveniles from a wholesaler in Sydney so I dont know where they came from.

They started spawning around 3 months ago and lay on a 21 day cycle.

The problem is they eat the eggs as soon as they lay them.:headwally:

I dont get to feed them as much as I would like but they get spectrum pellets in the morning and mysid shrimp in the afternoon.

Do you think the reason they are eating the eggs is because of their diet or could the male possibly be sterile?

I would love to get some babies out of this pair. I dont know of any other breeders in Australia who have Platinum/ Platinum pairs spawning.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Cheers Andrew

Im guessing the parents arnt getting enough protien. I would suggest setting up an automatic feeder and feed them more per day. Mine get fed 5 times a day, you could try 3 times a day to start with..

Are the eggs orange before getting ate or a whitish color?

I agree with more protein ! But if they are stressed or have any tank mates they can turn on eggs . Lights on during day off at night , keep away from heavy traffic in your home areas as well .

They are in their own tank on my breeding rack in the basement so there's no traffic and no stress involved.
The eggs are not as bright as my ocellaris pairs so you might be right about the protein.
Ill try and up the feeding and see how that goes.
Is there any chance the male could be infertile or is this unlikely?

They are spawning as I write this.
The eggs are a nice orange although they are fairly spread out.
The nest is at least twice the size of any of the previous ones.
I have been feeding them 5 times a day for the last 4 days.
Ill know in a couple hours if the ate them again.
