I got a maze brain coral 3 weeks ago. 10in specimen, standrad red and green. I originally placed it on my rockwork about 10 in from my T5 lights and noticed that the red parts were getting pale. I want to move it down deeper in the tank.

Is it all right to put this coral on the sand bed?

I had mine in a shaded area under a rock, I moved it about 3 inches out of the rockwork and into the light, the thing never fed and was always closed up. I moved it back to the shade and it is fine again, they love shade.

Yes, mine is also doing that. The brownish part has turned a really pale luminous green. Is that bad for it? It had some tentacles out this morning. Its on the sandbed, the only other spot I could put it is a cave in my LR..
