Playing around w/ ACAD

This is a concept drawing of a cultivation & propagation trough. It’ll be ¾” plywood bottom and sides. It’ll have a 55gallon drum for sump and live rock bin. Do you guys see any thing that may cause a problems?

I will raf I've seen very large ply tanks that have been running for years w/ no probs,so fingers crossed!

This has nothing to do w/ aquariums but I think it’s cool.
I have apx 6hours in to this drawing

Who is the crazy stick person with their hands in the tank? :)

Looking at econonomies of scale, how would other tanks be able to be bolted on to share similair components? Also, what about little bubbles coming through the return line? Any filter socks, etc.?

Great start Ed, I think this will work nicely in the shop. Very exciting!

The beauty of ACAD-Cut, Paste, Rotate,3D Alinge-Done

I like the idea of the wagon wheel If the 55gal drum was bigger and square we could do 4 troughs north, south, east & west.

That person is me! it’s a exact scale replicate couldn’t you see the resemblance?
I have been working out dose it show?

hmm...a 4 pointed spoke. Definitely would make maintenance easier and all areas would be accessible. Not ideal for space conservation, but I think the trade-off is sweet.

I think the junction point will need major power connections, switches, various reaction media and chambers, etc. Having that many tanks pour into one - it would probably be one hell of a sump space. A drum would probably not work (just my opinion).

What about a refugium under each trough that was higher than the input to the sump to use gravity to work that through? I am just tossing out ideas here as the nature of your question seemed to be open ended - was not sure how you were going to handle that piece.

“The Big H” Way more efficient use of space.
1-big skimmer.
2-big pumps for circulation.
4’ x 8’ x 18” sump,fuge LR grow out.

Sweet. I don't know much about ACAD, but I have used SketchUp and I can appreciate what you've done there.

I'm still having trouble getting things to work correctly to show pics on RC.
