Hello All,
I am not exactly a beginner in the hobby, i have had a 55gal / 28 gal for the past 3 years with good success. However i have never "sunk" the funds into a tank and wanted an awesome tank as much as i do now.
This tank is going to predominately Acros/monti and Chalices.
The following is what i have ordered thus far;
Tank
80 Gal 32x24x24 Tank with built in overflow
30 Gallon Sump 3 chambers / Fuge With Chaeto + LED Lighting
Custom Tank Stand (built by myself)
Equipment
EcoTech Radion XR30W Pro Gen3
EcoTech Radion XR30W Pro Light Mount
EcoTech Reef Link
Nepptune Apex Jr.
(2) Jebao Rw-8 wavemakers + Controller
SCA 303 - 150 Gal Protein Skimmer
Next Reef MR1 Media Reactor (going to run Sea Gel)

Rock
Will Be transferring around 30 pounds of live rock out of my 28G tank.
25 Pound Box DRY Key Largo Rock
15 pounds of DRY Prime Cut Shelf Rock
80 Pounds of Marco's Sand
Going to Drill the rocks with a Diamond bit and put nylon rod through them.
Will This be enough rock? I want a minimalist aquascape so my fish have some good room for swimming.
Stock List
Two small 1.5" Clowns
Small Diamond Goby
---------------------------
I want the following,
4-6 Chromis (hopefully to school)
Copperbanded Butterfly
Wife really really wants a dwarf zebra lion fish. Good? Bad? is the dwarf fuzzy better?
My actions to move my 28G into my 80G is going to be as follows,
- I hooked up a large canister filter onto my 28G a little bit ago to get some bacteria going in preparation for the move.
- After the tank has been leaked tested and is set up i plan to fill with 75% Brand new fresh Saltwater.
- Set the canister filter up on the new tank and let it run without cleaning the pads. While i get the other tank broken down.
- put fish / corals in 5 gal buckets
- transfer my live rock into the new 80Gal.
- transfer tank water from 28gal into the 80gal to top it off.
- Drip Acclimate fish / coral to the new tank and drop them in.
Further Questions:
My corals have been under LEDs for a year, but not a Radion (chinese).. I anticipate running the radion on acclimate mode yes?
Does my livestock plan seem alright? Not to much?
What about a CUC? How many hermits / snails?
- For an ATO resevoir can i use a new 20Gallon tank next to the sump? or will the lighting form the fuge cause algae growth in my ATO water?
