Please give me some input on this deal

I am looking at this 125 gallon aquarium on craiglist that is going for 350 (firm). It comes with a stand but no canopy and some other supplies like a return pump and sump that I already have. It is also reef ready and the owner say's the seals were redone 2 months ago and he also say's there are no major scratches, just a few light ones here and there.

I can get a brand new 125 gallon reef ready for 400 with no stand or canopy. I would also have the Amish in my area build me a custom stand and canopy for around 100 dollars.

Do you think it is better to buy the used aquarium of that guy and save about 150 bucks or buy a brand new one just to be safe? What would you do

I'd be concerned if it was just recently resealed. If it's not done right you could end up with leaks not long after you fill it. That is an absolute nightmare scenario, so if you want that tank you have to trust that whoever resealed it used the right materials and did the job correctly. I don't think that it's worth the $150.

Yeah, that was one of my biggest concerns.

Definately pay the extra $150 unless you have severe budget issues
