Please Help Anemone question

I have had a BTA for about a week. He has been moving around the tank trying to find a good spot. Today I could not see him I thought he was under the rocks. I checked my over flow and there he was attached to a pipe (with drilled holes for the water to flow) His tenticles were stuck in the pipe. I think I may have ripped off some tenticles. I put him back into the tank. Is there anything I should look for to see if he may be dying. I don't see any holes to the body but he is rolled up in a ball. I have egg crate over the intake so I don't know how he got inside. He is just roling around on the bottom he will not attach to anything. Should I just give it time. Thanks for any response.

An anemone will generally wander until it finds a spot to its liking. If it isn't settling down it may not be happy in your tank.

The best thing to do with a nem caught in a powerhead or overflow is to turn off the flow and wait for it to back out, that way you don't damage the tentacles.

BTA's like to settle their foot into a crevice in between two rocks.

Your nem is probably dying if its mouth is open or gaping, or it appears to be disintegrating. If its mouth is closed tightly it is probably just still trying to settle in.

How old is your tank?
What are your parameters?
Pictures?
How did you acclimate your anemone?
