my shark has not been eating over the last 3 days and has grown very weak.
He is only 8 inches long and I have had him for 3 weeks.
he was eating squid and I tried giving him brine shrimp and small pieces of jumbo shrimp but would only eat the squid....
My amonia and ph levels are fine.
the tank is clean and I have a Humu trigger and a clown fish that are doing fine.

What can I do to help him?

It never hurts to do a water change when something seems wrong in your tank. Try finding some live grass/ghost shrimp to try. Also try live cockles shelled.

I would not recommend keeping a young shark in with a trigger. Being that it is 8 inches it is probably less than 3 months old. They hatch out at 5 -7 inches.

It is best to quarantine and keep young sharks with non aggressive tank mates.

There are many reasons for the hunger strike in this young shark: aggression, internal protozoan/worms, bacterial infection, fluctuating water conditions are the things high on the list.

Examine the shark closely (especially the abdomen) for redness, sores or missing "pieces" of fins. Place the shark in a separate tank with pristine water conditions. Try adding an appetite enhancer to the water - many products on the market or you can crush a vitamin B12 tablet and dissolve in h2o and add to the tank.

Key to survival is to get this weak shark out of the tank with the trigger.
