please help/Bullet 1 skimmer

no, i just got this from a friend who's been in this hobby for a long time, he said it was good to go, now he's not around to talk to though. should I?

i would take a look inside. could be just soime little bit of junk in there slowin ya up.. make sure the holes are clear and there is nothing build up inside.

My air is running around 7/8 open. It appears from the picture that you need to close the gate valve and raise the water level.

I'll give it a try, the specs on PM's website have the water level an inch above the grey box. Will i be running the risk of a huge overflow?

As I mentioned in the PM, that water level is with the air CLOSED. That;s just a starting point but thats where I would start. Close the air, set the water level there, then open the air. Do it when you will be home so you can keep an eye on it.

chalk this one up to being inpatient and not thorough!! finally took it apart tonight and sure enough, a large solidified salt deposit was blocking the air tube. Also, changed the pump to draw out of first section of sump and return is dumping into the middle, beautiful head of foam brewing now!
