Please help ID these two clowns

I had one clown die on me (due to it jumping the divider and getting caught in pump) so I re-homed it's friend (both sexless juveniles) and was in the market for two new clowns.

I originally wanted a snowflake...but due to them costing upwards of $100 each....I decided to wait.

Well my local fish store had what they called "designer" clowns for sale. I went ahead and bought 2 of them.

I'm not sure what they are....but I think they might be very "low grade" snowflakes or something along those lines? The clerk seemed to think it was a "piscasso-like" clownfish.

Thanks

Why are images not showing up for me? I used the correct BB code on here....have the mods done something to my account on here?

You need to paste these here: BBCode (message boards & forums)
The ones you linked are to web pages showing image, not to images itself.

You need to have the actual picture code, not the page. They usually have jpg at the end.

*ETA*

A little better

I did....if you edit my post you will see I clicked the picture icon. It asked me for the URL of the image...of which I uploaded to IMGUR.

This is the 2nd time this has happened to me in as many days.

Not sure if there's something wrong with the forums.

And "yes", I know BBcode like the back of my hand. Not going to say "how or why", but trust me, I know forums like the back of my hand :)

I saw there was no jpg on it when I fixed the picture. The minus is what I edited and the plus is what I added. And I removed the / so you could see it.

So it requires the .jpg? Why is that for? The root URL should provide enough information.

[QUOTE="ocellaris123, post: 22361646, member: 261133"]Hi,

They look like some fancy strain of ocellaris, "davinci clowns"[/QUOTE]

So....do my fish look ugly to you? I googled "davinci clowns" and the ones in the picutres in google look more fancy than what I got.

I mean I like my clowns don't get me wrong...and one is smaller and one is bigger so hopefully they will sex soon.

But considering my clowns only cost $40 a piece.....does this mean I got the garbage of the litter? (in other words "crap grade")

should it matter what grade they are? you bought them because you liked them, that should be all that matters

My number one rule when buying clownfish is to make sure they are free from physical deformities. I dont care about "grade" of the fish. If the fish is "A" grade but has a physical deformity I wont even consider buying it.

Grades are typically reserved for Picassos, and all they you is if the white is connecting or not, and by how much or how little. In other words, grades really don't mean anything.

But in terms of your clowns, they look like ocellaris and they might be "Fancy Whites" if they are from SA. They could be DaVincis if they are from Sea & Reef. They're definitely not snowflakes. I personally think they look cool since I like it when clowns have white in their dorsals. The nice thing about designer clowns is that beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder.
