I just found this spot on my cardinal fish. None of my other fish have anything similar. Can anyone tell me what this is and how to treat?

Is the fish scratching? How long has it been in the tank? Have you added anything recently to the tank? Did you quarantine the fish prior to adding it to the main?

haven't seen him scratching. I have two of the cardinals I got together, probably about October time frame.

You have not added any corals or inverts to the tank?

I have two banggais, hippo tang, couple peppermint shrimp, couple clown fish, long tentacle anemone, and several corals. Chili coral, torch, frog spawn, mushroom, hammer, colt but none very recently.

Without knowing how long ago you added anything wet to the tank I would say it was an injury from a shrimp, LR or a sting from a coral.

It looks like Lymphocystis to me, but I am by no means an expert.
