Please help me identify this

I am seeing these purple growth's on some of my corals and live rocks. I don't know what they are and am afraid they will over come and harm them.

In the attached picture they are the purple growth's and they are multiplying. Any information would be greatly appreciated!!

Are they polyp like?... I mean, from the picture there seems to be many bulbous arm like polyps growing in clusters. Or are those red things thin leaf like growths, like a form of algae? Hard to really see from the picture.

I thought they could be a polyp, but I never see anything extend from them and they are popping up in various areas of the tank. They are pretty sturdy, and feel squishy to the touch thats why I didn't think it was algae but I could be mistaken. Def stumped at this point

Do a search on Botryocladia skottsbergii

Here is an article about "bubble algae" that mentions it as well (it's not like valonia, but still has a common name as bublle algae):

It could be red turf algae.

Take some of it to your store and see if a yellow tank eats it. It can spread fast.
