I have a Aquapod 12 gallon and I need a fan replacement! I am going out of town soon and now my fan is starting to make a horrible sound. I am scared to death that this fan is going to burn down my house while no one is here for a couple of days!!! I also need to know how in the world to get the top off the tank so I can replace this fan. I would not mind replacing it with something quieter than what it was when it did work! Can anyone please, please, please help?

Don't have the AP12 but this still might work.
On my NC24 if you open the lid fully and look down at the hinges you should see that there is a space to open the lid. While the lid is open grab the bottom of the hood and pull it towards you (Helps to have someone making sure the tank is stable or you need to apply counter pressure). Mine literally pops out if you pull it towards you.

If you find something quieter, let me know, I want to change mine out. Also, the AP12 only has one right? I see 2 places where a fan could go, but only one of them actually has one right? I just wnant to make sure that I don't need to add another because someone at the factory forgot to add a fan.
