hey guys ive been having a huge problem for awhile now.. ive ask many different people and i still havent been able to fix the problem yet
here goes
I upgraded my fish tank from a 55g to a 75g with a sump. i have 2 x250 w MH, 2 hydor koralia 4s, aquamedic turboflotor multi1000 skimmer, fluval 205 canaster filter, ALOT of live rock (not sure the weight). and fuge stocked with chaeto, and some culerpa.
when i upgraded my tank i sustained massive losses of corals and some fish. i started losing fish left and right. eventually i lost all of my fish but still have a few corals such as GSP, and a kenya tree. ive tryed to add new fish and they just die (corals too), the GSP and kenya tree are still alive tho? ive added numerous fish such and clowns, wrasses, even damsels, they just seem to breathe heavy and die.
after i lost all of my fish i waited for about 1-2 months before add new fish to rule out parasites. new fish only seem to last between 1 day to 1 week. they dont look torn up.. they just breathe really heavy, lay down and die
my water parameters are amost always the following
ammonia- 0
nitrite - 0
nitrate - 0
SG 1.023
alk - 7-8
ph- 8.3- 8.4
phosphate - 0
temp 78- 80
i cannot figure out whats wrong with my tank perhaps a chemical contaminate? or low dissolved oxygen? maybe high CO2? the tank is in my bed room. perhaps moving it to the family room would help? massive water changes?
please help.. im about to give up, and i breaks my heart
