I have successfully qt'd (observation only) a clown, a royal gramma and a YWG. All have ended up being healthy and are now in my DT. My coral beauty went into QT 11 days ago and now I'm getting worried.
I can see some whitening on the tip of his dorsal fin and I've been keeping an eye on it. Today he started flashing. I don't see any white spots on his body and I'm not seeing anything he would be scratching at.
In my research on here I see that flashing could be a sign of marine ick, but no mention of the fin whitening. I looked into fin rot, but there's no mention of flashing. Could it be both together? Hoping someone can diagnose and recommend treatment.
The qt is completely separate from the display and I'm not worried about copper cross contamination, but I read copper cant be used on angels. Unfortunately, ttm is out of the question due to space limitations. Parameters in the qt are normal and I do a water change once a week. He's eating like a pig. No problems there.
I tried to attach a picture (best I could get...he's super fast!) of the whitened fin. Hope it shows up, I've never posted a pic before. Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks for reading.
