Please Help My Rabbit Fish

i have a magnificent rabbit fish. he got what i thought may have been ich. except the bumps were white with black outlines.... he had white spots on his right eye and his left eye was clouded over... and he quit eating... i started and ich treatment. but some of the symptoms didnt seem like ich so i started adding penacillen that i got from the lfs..... the spots are going away but where they were are jet black spots.... the spots on his eye are gone but now both eyes are clouded over... and no matter what i try i cant get him to eat... please help.

well does anyone know if penicillin is a good med. to use for them???

are the eyes really clouded over or have they a blue haze this is natural.

rabbit fish are very ich resistant so it might well not be ich.

cloudy eyes can be a sign of bacterial infection not sure about penicilin but ati biotics are good for this.

Penicillin is mostly worthless for saltwater bacterial infections. WHite bumps with a black outline is unusual. Soemtiems vibrio bacteria can cause tissues to turn black as they utilize iron in thier metabolism. Secondary bacterial infections are also common with parasite infections. I would treat in quarantine with a combination of hyposalinity and a good antibiotic. Maracyn-Two can be a good choice for eye infections. Other choices could be nitrofurazone or furanase.
