MimicTang,
I posted this in your other thread as well:
You will want to give these fish a 10-minute dip in dechlorinated freshwater as soon as possible. The most important thing is to make sure the freshwater is adjusted for pH with a buffer (baking soda will work fine to raise the pH), and the temperature is identical to your tank water. This can be done by floating the freshwater dip container in your tank for 30 minutes or so. Aireate the water with an airstone, and place the fish gently in the FW dip.
Make sure the fish keep swimming, as they have a tendency to go into shock, and lay on the bottom breathing very rapidly. If you are unable to keep them swimming place them back in the QT tank, and try again later. If you are going to treat with Formalin do this in the QT tank only, and its normally one drop per gallon of water for long term treatment, or 25 drops per gallon for a 30 minute saltwater bath in a separate container.
From reading the thread you linked to some of the fish are fine where others are not. I apologize for the inconvenience first off, but wanted to make sure that the box was opened in dim light, and after the shipment was split up that everyone transported their fish in a temperature a controlled environment (cooler), and the fish themselves were acclimated into everyone’s QT tanks by dripping them or following the acclimation instructions, etc. All of these steps play an important role in reducing the stress on newly acquired fish.
For those of you who are having problems please do your best, and keep us up to speed on your progress, and as always we will stand behind your fish if need be. Once again I apologize for the inconvenience.
Sincerely,
