Hi All,
I'm planning my first nano, although I had a 72 reef years ago. I'm torn between a Mr.Aqua 25 cube, or a Nuvo 16..If I go with a Mr. Aqua tank, is just a HOB skimmer sufficient filtration for SPS, lps, clam, etc? Do I need a HOB filter, or drill for a sump? I'm trying to keep the cost down..Thanks,Tim

You're going to need a powerhead to keep anything in the mr. aqua. also cost down + clam is kindof an oxymoron. clams need VERY high lighting and that costs a lot :).
I'd definitely recommend drilling if you got the MR. aqua 25 cube.

if you want the easiest I'd go with the nuvo

i agree with the cost down + clam, but that is a different conversation. I have a Mr. Aqua and i guarantee that you will think that its a tiny tank. i also have the 12g cube, and it would feel like torture putting anything in it because its so tiny. Go with the Mr. Aqua cube and get a nano remora skimmer, AI sol (nano if you change your mind about SPS and clams) and you will have the perfect tank on a budget.
