hey, i got a frag of a bennett tort about a week ago...it did not look very good from the beginning... a lot of its tissue was not blue or brown, but rather this green looking color. im not really sure what this means? i thought it might mean that it was eitehr dead there or that it hafnt been getting enough flow or light... so i moved it up towards the top of the tank where there is excellent flow and lighting....

well, i just noticed tonight that it looks like some of the tips might be bleaching a little..... and most of the areas before are still green.... i moved it down from the light some, but it is still in good flow..... i can see a couple of nubs trying to be that amazing blue... but overall the coral looks bad.... is there anything else i can do? or do i just need to wait and pray? thanks guys...

any chance this is the Cali morph of the Bennett tort? the Cali morph has a lot more green in the body than the original morph.

IIRC the Cali morph of the Bennett tort is a low flow coral.

Params?

i was just told that it was a bennett tort....not sureif it is a cali morph...coral is in too bad of shape to tell.... i can see the tips that are trying to color up are deep blue.... what is the "green-ness" on the flesh?

water param...
calc 450ppm
alk 9.4 dkh
nitrates 0
nitrites 0
ammonia 0
ph 8.3
temp 78.5-79.5

its not like green as in healthy green, its like green as in looks dead but not bleached green....the only way i can describe it....

i may have just browned out and the green coloration is the first to start coming back. i've had a coral which browned out, then most of it became green and eventually went back to its original color. just something to consider.

I have a Bennett Tort and it has some green on the body. I know mine's a Bennett Tort because it came right off his piece. Here's a few pics. Remember different light spectrums change coral colors.
