I have a 30G hex. I used live rock and sand from another tank. It's a week old. I want to know if it's ok to starts adding corals, such as, mushrooms, zoos, gsp, xenia, and hammer coral.
PH 8.7
Ca 450
Nitrates 10
alkalinity 3.6, Im no sure the exact number but it said high on the test kit
Ammonia 0
Phosphate 1 :( I am going to get some kind of remover for this one.
Right now there is only 3 hermit crabs in the tank, I am using well water, so that could be my phosphates. Also I don't know why the alkalinity is high. Any thoughts?

For starters, your pH is a bit high. That could just be because it's a new tank and is still fluctuating a bit. I would try a water change to bring that down.

3.6 is ok for alk, but if you're using one of those test kits that just reads low, medium, and high, then that's very unreliable.

Third, I'm not sure about the well water. Might work, or they may be all kinds of things in it that we don't test for that cause your corals to mysteriously die off.

What kind of lighting do you have? Do a series of water changes, and bring your pH in line. Then, try the mushrooms, zoos, or gsp and see how one of those does (assuming you have appropriate lighting).
