Please help!!!

I originally thought that too, but i fought this for over a month only feeding once a week if that. My waterflow is around 800gph on my 30 gallon. Now my problem is getting my mushrooms, richordea and acans off their live rock mounts. I'd hate to start over and have all this come back because of 3 small pieces of rock.

So one of my LFS's made a call to someone and said that it's a bacteria that lives in the live rock. His suggestion, kill all my rock or start with new rock. I think I'm gonna do a bit of both. It's a bummer but guess my 10 gallon will be a home for all my saltwater for a while.

Whoa, whoa, whoa!!! Man that is not uncommon. The bacteria will find an equilibrium. Leave it be. It will go away in a short time as your tank gets established and your husbandry, feeding, etc. become more routine.

One of the best pieces of advice I got as an amateur reefer from an experienced hobbyist was to not freak out when you see changes or cycles of things that you deem unnatural. Because it is in fact natural.

Ripping a system apart because of bacteria, algae, etc. is nonsense. Of course that LFS wants you to start with new rock. $$$.

Remember the first rule of thumb in this hobby is "PATIENCE". And the second is "HUSBANDRY".

Were you not getting sufficient help in your duplicate thread? We gave you a few suggestions and asked for additional information, but there was no response.

Could it be a bad batch of salt?
or something else (new) that changed you changed?

It doesn't seem like you have much attached to your rock. I'd just take the rock out and keep scrubbing it and putting it back. Water changes weekly and time will most likely solve this problem. I can see why you would be discouraged...it's more than a little ugly but I'm fairly certain it's going to clear up.
