It is just above the clown please please help

could a snail have been eaten and punctured through

Deflating (( once in a while )) is normal.

But, that hole on the side is not a good sign at all. Any chance of getting a better picture of it? While I wouldn't take it out, I would keep a very close eye on it -- and try to keep the clown away from it, at this point it will only make things worse.

Is this for your 90 or 12? And what are the water parameters (( with numbers, including salinity )) and what lights do you have.

I am covering it with a grape tomato basket (plastic)... Its my nano 12 ...it was tested last Sunday everything normal and i did a 20% water change i could do a 10% water change with the water i still have its fresh... and they are compact florescent

How old is your 12g. Your hobby experience says 1 week, that's not correct is it? Are the cp's stock?

No its been about a year now but i just got the anemone sunday ... i saw a snail near it this morning and im wondering if it somehow ate that thing could the snail puncture through the side?

I highly doubt that something it ate caused the damage. More likely the clown (( from "loving it too much" )) or something about your tank isn't making it happy.

What is "normal" for the water test? Numbers will tell a lot. And salinity and temp.

i really dont have them i get it tested by someone else sorry :( ... this is a hole though i very gently examined it and its definitely a hole in the side i either something went through it or maybe a rock slid.... the water is what Fish World a very respectable store recommends

You mean that you get your water pre-mixed with salt?

If you can, get your own test kits, and at least a refractometer, so you know the salinity, could play a role in this if it is too high/low.

i have been taking care of a 90 gallon tank for 4 years i know that the numbers are not an issue in this my question is more about anemones can they rebuild themselves and should i feed it to help it ? i have the water thing down i am really just trying to learn about the anemone itself

Was just trying to help. Water parameters play a big role in the health of an anemone, trying to figure out what happened to it without even knowing the salinity makes it very difficult to help.

I know but i literally just had the water checked on Sunday and i did a water change on Sunday as well...this fish store is nationally known and they use RODI and the refractometer is at my dads house i dont really have the option to get it right at the second this wasnt something that happened from water this is physical damage to the anemone IMO it was literally like maybe an hour period in which it happened. i have had multiple anemones and i have seen a few go to water quality and this is clearly physical damage

water params can change really quickly. no one can really help without the params. i had this happen to one of my first nems a while back and it turned out i had a little crab picking at it at night. get the water params and maybe watch at night to see if you have any hitchhikers. what else is in the tank besides the clown?

im checking ammonia ... there is a sally crab pistol shrimp Yellow watchman goby and some coral ...and aptasia that pesty stuff

sally crap may be the problem. the last to i had were very aggressive and bothered everything. watch the nem at nite for a while and if it's something attacking the nem you mite see it.
