Please ID/advise.

I picked this up at a LFS that is not my normal LFSS. Stopped in to see what this place was all about and got this for $8 as well as a two leathers that are doing well.

I was pretty sure I was in over my head with this but wanted to give it a shot.

Don't recall the name but when I purchased, about 4-5 weeks ago, it was a dark purple with some neon green on the ends.

Question are: what was the name of this coral that u butchered and is it gone beyond saving? If it's too far gone should I pull it?

tri color valida ? i'm just guessing here. the coral is still alive.

it doesn't look dead. is there algae growing on it? that's when you know it's time to let go. purple with green polyps... could it be a bonsai?

No algae growth so looks like that's a plus.

Looked up both possible names and it might be a tri colored valida but not 100% sure

I would guess Tri Color Valida over the Garf Bonsai.

Next question: that's an sps so what is the lighting and flow like in your tank?

I've got a RIO 2500 return pump, Jeabo PP8 wave maker running at about 40%, and a Kessil A360WE running somewhere between 30-40%.
